The Commission for Orthodox Missions and Evangelism (C.O.M.E.) is a unique ministry of the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of San Francisco founded in 1991 by Metropolitan Anthony, of blessed memory, and a group of lay leaders to:
educate and engage the faithful of the Metropolis in Evangelism and Mission
fulfill The Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20)
assist in the establishment and growth of mission parishes to achieve self sufficiency
further the work and programs of the Orthodox Christian Mission Center (OCMC) in St. Augustine, Florida
enhance inter-jurisdictional cooperation in the establishment of domestic mission parishes
Strategic Plan Goals & Funding
Establish and support Missions & Evangelism Ministries in each parish.
Plant five new parishes in 10 years.
Parish Mentoring - C.O.M.E.’s work is funded primarily by an annual parish-based fundraising campaign called, "Mochas for Missions," from parish and individual donations, and from the Sts. Katherine and George Mission Endowment Fund of the Metropolis of San Francisco.
