Simply defined, a strategic plan enables a parish to get from where it is today to where it wants, or needs, to be tomorrow. The plan will define the direction (strategy) and identify the resources, programs, ministries and goals necessary to achieve its mission and vision. To assist parishes in the development of their respective plans, materials have been developed as a result of our own Metropolis’ Strategic Planning process. A comprehensive guidebook, entitled, “Parish Strategic Planning - A Vision for the Future,” as well as real examples of parish strategic plans can be downloaded at http://sfstrategicplan.net/parishplanning/.

By utilizing our six-step design and implementation approach as a reference, a parish will be able to effectively solicit a variety of opinion, insights and recommendations from its congregation, build consensus and create its own, effective plan for the future.
