The Greek Heritage Foundation has selected His Eminence Metropolitan Gerasimos as the recipient of their inaugural Lifetime Achievement Award to be presented at the Greek Heritage Foundation Gala on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at The Resort at Pelican Hill in Newport Beach, California. Metropolitan Gerasimos was selected for this honor in recognition of his inspired leadership of the Metropolis of San Francisco and the vision and dedication which has brought forth tremendous growth and progress for the Greek Orthodox Church on the west coast.

The newly established Greek Heritage Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement and preservation of Hellenism and Orthodoxy throughout America. To this purpose, the Greek Heritage Foundation is currently in development of the Greek Heritage Museum in San Juan Capistrano, California, producing film and television media promoting Hellenism and Greek Orthodoxy, and supporting the advancement of the Greek Orthodox liturgical arts. The Greek Heritage Museum will be devoted to documenting and displaying historical and cultural items of Hellenism, Byzantium, and Orthodoxy, and offering advanced and interactive scholastic programs to enrich generations to come in their many splendors.

Future plans for the Greek Heritage Museum include workshops and classes on Byzantine Music, iconography and church history. Multimedia efforts of the Greek Heritage Foundation will highlight important historical aspects of worldwide Orthodoxy.
