The Greek Orthodox Metropolis of San Francisco Music Ministry is pleased to announce the inaugural St. Romanos Music Festival, an exciting new opportunity for youth in Grades 7 – 12 to deepen their faith through hymnology and hymnography. As this is the first year of the festival, it will be held at the Metropolis Level only, and conducted virtually via Zoom on Saturday, May 23, 2026. This program invites young singers from across the Metropolis of San Francisco to participate, develop their musicianship, and share their love of Orthodox sacred music. Each participant is asked to speak for one minute before singing to explain the theology of the hymn, who composed it, and where it appears liturgically. The participant will be performing individually on zoom, with limited spectators. All musicians will receive a certificate recognizing their participation and the winners of the two levels will receive a small cash prize.
