The Metropolis of San Francisco Stewardship Ministry invites you to join us for a special presentation by Steven Pappas and Bill Marianes where they will discuss the relevant topic “Life After Festivals (As We’ve Known Them)”. This past year has been an eye-opener for many of our parishes, who had to cancel their Greek Festivals and other major fundraising initiatives due to the pandemic. This put an immediate focus on Stewardship and the importance of cultivating stewards who are fully invested in the parish – not just through financial support – but as engaged participants in ministry and as lay leaders. For too long our parishes have relied upon Festival income to meet their annual budget. Now is the time to think about how your Festival can be re-imagined as an opportunity for outreach and community engagement.

Steven Pappas
Steven Pappas serves as the Stewardship Ministry Lead for the Metropolis of San Francisco. He has been serving the Church for decades in numerous lay leadership positions. At his home parish of Saint Anthony Greek Orthodox Church in Pasadena, CA, he served multiple terms as Parish Council President and Treasurer. He also served as the Finance Chair for Saint Anthony’s major Capital Campaign to build a new Parish Hall. At the Metropolis level, Steve has served on the Metropolis Council and now as a Ministry Leader. Steve is also active with the Patriarch Athenagoras Orthodox Institute (PAOI) in Berkeley, CA and currently serves as Vice Chairman.
Professionally, Steve has enjoyed a 30-year career as a management consultant, serving clients across the Media, Technology, and Communication sectors. Steve resides in Glendale, CA with his wife Christine of 29 years and they are blessed with three adult children – Sophia, Nico, and Presvytera Danae Magoulias.
Bill Marianes
Bill Marianes has been called a “stewardship calling evangelist” and “the Orthodox WHY guy.” For 36 years, he was a partner and in leadership for two global law firms with over 1,100 lawyers each, where he was managing partner of the Atlanta office and practiced in the areas of corporate law, mergers and acquisitions. He retired early so that he could “work” full time for free through his Stewardship Calling Ministry to help people and parishes discover and live their stewardship callings so that they can have a good account before the awesome judgment seat of Christ.
