5:00 – 6:00 p.m. PST

Join His Eminence Metropolitan Gerasimos of San Francisco on Zoom for a delightful evening of merriment and song as we gather to celebrate this beautiful season of the Nativity of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Though we cannot gather together for this cherished annual event, there is still an opportunity for us to do good and help others.

The 2020 Giving Tree
for the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of San Francisco
will benefit the Orthodox Diocese of Nyeri and Mt. Kenya and the ministry of His Grace Bishop Neofitos

Special Guests

  • His Grace Bishop Neofitos will be joining us on Zoom from Kenya!
  • Theodosia Roussos will be performing Christmas music!

The Diocese of Mt. Nyeri and Kenya is comprised of 54 priests and 56 parishes. His Grace Bishop Neofitos also oversees five orphanages and schools which provide a home for over 600 children and teens, as well as receive education and spiritual nourishment.

Through your generosity, we can provide for school fees for the children, medical care, clothing, food, construction of church shelters, and provide allowances for the priests to be able to support themselves and their families.

The Orthodox Diocese of Nyeri and Mt. Kenya needs our help to support:

  • Saint Makarios Children’s Home which cares for 220 children and young adults, ages 2 – 25 years old. The salaries for the teachers come from donations.
  • Saint Nina Orphanage and Mission Center is home to 150 youth ages 2 – 18 years old. This is a newly established mission fully run by the Diocese. This Sunday, December 19, His Grace Bishop Neofitos, along with mission priest Father Makarios, will be baptizing over 100 Neophytes!
  • Saint John Orphanage and Mission Centre provides for care for 70 youth, ages from 2 – 18 years old. This facility is fully run by the diocese, under the direction of Father Nicholas. Just two weeks ago, 64 children and adults were baptized!
  • Saint Mark Orphanage and School serves 150 children ages 2 – 15, and is fully run by the Diocese, which has to provide for the teacher salaries and supplies.
  • Saint Lazarus Orphanage is home to 50 children and teens ages 2 – 18 years old. This Orphanage is located in the far Eastern part of Kenya, a very dry area.
