The Greek Orthodox Metropolis of San Francisco Music Ministry invites clergy, chanters, choir members, and all those interested in Orthodox liturgical music to participate in a two-day Liturgical Music Workshop, December 11 – 12, 2026, at Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Seattle, Washington.

Inspired by the words of Psalm 150, “Let everything that breathes praise the Lord,” the workshop will focus on liturgics and foundational knowledge of sacred music within the Byzantine tradition. Participants will explore the rich musical heritage of the Orthodox Church and deepen their appreciation for the essential role of music in worship.

The workshop will be led by Christopher Hondros, Metropolis Music Ministry Coordinator, who will guide participants in understanding the relationship between liturgical music, prayer, and the spiritual life of the Church.

This educational opportunity reflects the ongoing commitment of the Metropolis Music Ministry to nurturing sacred music, strengthening liturgical participation, and encouraging the faithful to offer their voices in praise of God.

The workshop will be held at Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 2100 Boyer Avenue East, Seattle, WA 98112. Registration is $75 for adults and $35 for participants under 18. Registration is available here.
