Congratulations to Dr. Eve Tibbs on the recent publishing of her latest book, Seeing the Gospel: An Interpretive Guide to Orthodox Icons. This volume is an important offering from many perspectives. With 90 color icons throughout, not only does it offer an interpretation of the rich visual language of Orthodox icons, but it does so as a narrative journey through eighteen pivotal events in the life of Jesus Christ from the New Testament.
Seeing the Gospel is also a helpful Bible study tool for Orthodox Christians and western Christians alike. Since it presents the gospel of Christ in both image and narrative text from and Orthodox perspective, it will be an excellent biblical primer for the large number of seekers currently coming through the doors of Orthodox parishes.
Published by Baker Academic, this book is available directly on their website, or from Amazon. It is a “must have” in your personal library and a wonderful addition to your parish bookstore.
